Friday's Newsletter

We were pleased to welcome Mr Elcock, the new headteacher for September, to the school on Wednesday. Although he was here for various meetings, Mr Elcock enjoyed getting out on the playground at lunchtime for fun with the skipping ropes and some of the children.

Friday has arrived again and the half term break is fast approaching too! How the weeks are whizzing by! We must be having fun: 'time flies when you are having fun!' The week has certainly been full of lots of smiling children and exciting progress in learning.

Last week I was wondering if spring had arrived; this week it is feeling as if summer may be here! It has been glorious weather for the children to enjoy our extensive school grounds, and for Turtle and Penguin classes to enjoy their school trips.

I think that maybe Spring has arrived this week! Haven't we had some glorious sunny days? The school site is alive with signs of spring: children beginning to wear summer uniform, blue tits nesting in nestboxes, lots of amphibian activity in the school pond area and I am eagerly awaiting the first sight of the house martins who travel all the way from Africa to come and nest in the eaves of our school hall.
