I can’t believe that we are 4 weeks into our autumn term already – time certainly flies when you’re having fun. It has been lovely to see all children settle back into their new classes, with their new teachers, with new friends too.

I can' t quite believe this is the final newsletter of the year and my final newsletter to you as headteacher of both Corpusty and Foulsham primary schools. This week has been full of endings and goodbyes as we have sent staff, Year 6s and other children moving on with our best wishes.

We were pleased to welcome Mr Elcock, the new headteacher for September, to the school on Wednesday. Although he was here for various meetings, Mr Elcock enjoyed getting out on the playground at lunchtime for fun with the skipping ropes and some of the children.

Friday has arrived again and the half term break is fast approaching too! How the weeks are whizzing by! We must be having fun: 'time flies when you are having fun!' The week has certainly been full of lots of smiling children and exciting progress in learning.

Last week I was wondering if spring had arrived; this week it is feeling as if summer may be here! It has been glorious weather for the children to enjoy our extensive school grounds, and for Turtle and Penguin classes to enjoy their school trips.

I think that maybe Spring has arrived this week! Haven't we had some glorious sunny days? The school site is alive with signs of spring: children beginning to wear summer uniform, blue tits nesting in nestboxes, lots of amphibian activity in the school pond area and I am eagerly awaiting the first sight of the house martins who travel all the way from Africa to come and nest in the eaves of our school hall.

I can't quite believe that the half term break has arrived already! However, the timing is perfect for many of the children (and many of the staff too) who look ready for a restful week after a half term packed full of hard work alongside illness for many also.

We have reached the end of another week; a week that has brought some beautiful cold, frosty weather. The children have definitely settled back well into the new term and have had a packed week full of learning experiences. It is always a great pleasure to see the children getting stuck into their outdoor learning sessions in Bushcraft.

Fakenham Schools join Synergy on 1st of April
